welcome back to my blog. At this moment I would like to continue my book’s
review of “Challenge You and Your Community”. Previous post, I have
share about the methods which used in this projects, now I would like to share
how it can make social change in community.
This
book explain that the purpose of this projects is for social change. “Who? How?
For whom? What were the results? What happened afterwards?”. Depending on which
project will be able to answer those question. Now, I’ll explain how it works
in one example. Using Theatre
What
problems were tackled this way?
- · Conflicts in families
- · Corruption
- · Social Apathy
- · Environment issue
- · Global Challenge: poverty, gender equality, education, etc.
Groups
that were targeted:
- · General public
- · Young teenagers
- · Students and youth in general
- · Ethnic minority
Locations
of performances:
- · In the fields
- · Schoolyard
- · Pubs, bars
- · Beach
- · During open air festival
Now,
how about the result?
Raised
awareness based on the project’s theme. Increased level of self confidence and
public attention. Changed personal and group approach in certain project.
Depending
on the specific of each community where project were implemented the short
impact even long term impact will be achieved. It needs well-planned strategies.
To give the best affects needs the best efforts.
That’s
how a project from communities for communities work. Its kind of methods give
different results, based on the targeted context. Next part will be posted
soon. Thanks for your visit. Cheers !!
