Journal Comparison
Hi ! And it goes again. Today's post would be a comparison between 2 Journal with similar topics. I would like to compare previous journal that I have reviewed before with this journal:
Influence of Video Games in Learning, Ali Saghir.
Educational Technology, Research and Assessment, Northern Illinois University, USA
Firstly, if you forgot the previous journal, you can click the link : First Journal
Done? Ok, let's get it started, shall we?
In the first journal, we can see that the writer focus on language learning motivation, but in this new journal focus on the benefits of the video games. Otherwise, they are still explain the effect of video games and what will be affected. First journal done the research with several students and really related to learning progress at the school, besides the second journal provide so many benefits by playing video games, especially for learning.
Next point, first journal use the misunderstanding of the students while playing the games, and they should learn English to complete or play the games, however, second journal use any beneficial things to be elaborated as a good skills and could applied anywhere, especially in learning. Specifically, playing video games promote skills such as wide attention allocation, spatial resolution in visual processing and high mental rotation abilities.
The modern video games not only include violence games but also role playing, simulation, puzzle and quiz, thereby utilizing the best digital microworlds to enhance the interactivity of the player with the game itself. (Just like in the first journal) Thus, there are significant benefits in integrating video games in learning, especially in the lower levels and preschool stage to enhance preparedness of the school going children to explore various methods to promoting knowledge acquisition Initially, teachers were the only source of knowledge for the learners.
So, I think it's enough for the comparison. I can conclude that the first journal focus on language learning motivation to learn English at school, however, second journal in other perspective focus on playing games that makes so many benefits which can applied to any self-skills, especially, education and learning language.
Thanks for visiting !!
